Written by Eric Walsh 2011

lyrics

Well she broke into my house.
Now she sleeps up in the roof.
I find small footprint in the dust upon the stairs.
And at night I hear her shuffle
There's a muffled hum above me
but I still let her think that I don’t know she's there.

My smoke it rises and her water falls.
We're connected by the pipes
like the mice living in the walls.
But you won't have to pick the lock no more.
I'll even leave a key.
If you just say that you'll come down and live with me.

And we don't have far to go.
And we don't want to be alone.
And there's not that much to learn.
But we'll learn.

Cause she thinks that she's deceived me
I don’t think that she'd believe me
if I told her I know well where she lay.
But the heat is getting stronger
she can't live up there much longer.
She will suffocate of simply fade away

And my smoke it rises and her water falls.
And at night I see her light move
through the hole in the wall.
But I can learn the things that make you laugh
and how you take your tea
If you just say that you'll come down and live with me.

And we don't have far to go.
And we don't want to be alone.
And there's not that much to learn.
But we'll learn.

For six long days and seven hot night
I watched the spot but still no sight.
I might have missed something if I stepped outside
so I locked the door and I cut the light.
Through howling-dog mosquito bites
and telephone calls of Saturday night.
It just won't stop. It just won't play.
I watched that spot for days and days and days.....and days

You can be the birds and I will be the trees
if you just say that you'll come down and live with me.

And we don't have far to go.
And we don't want to be alone.
And there's not that much to learn.
But we'll learn.
